Meet the Owner

My name is Valerie and I have been the owner of Hammer & Stain Pottstown since November 1, 2019. My husband TJ & and stepdaughter Alexia will often be in the studio along with me helping out when needed. 

I am originally from South Jersey but moved to Pennsylvania in 2012 where my husband is from. Prior to owning the studio I worked as a teacher's assistant in a preschool and then at Lifetouch taking school photos and managing the equipment for our photographers for 12 years. 

In the fall of 2018 I was helping to plan a fundraiser for a club Alexia was apart of at her middle school and found Hammer & Stain Pottstown. I loved the idea of DIY space for people to be creative. TJ was traveling a lot for work and so I started to work part-time at the studio and fell in love with it all. When the opportunity came up for the chance to purchase the business we jumped on it and haven't looked back since. Helping customers be creative and watching each of you create such beautiful pieces brings me so much joy. I truly love getting know each person who walks in the studio and also allowing you each to know me and my family and who you are supporting.
